ALL propane tanks have Male conections, so male to male will NEVER work. And if it is to need an accessory to connect, it should be CLEARLY posted as such. What good is a propane torch with a male coupler. Love the idea of the hose versus direct connect to the wand, but again not much good if you cannot connect it.
I purchased two hose clamps and was on my way. Propane 'Turbo Torch' - 3 Nozzles - Turbo-Blast Trigger - 60" Hose Like a champ. Outstanding. Thanks for the other reviews and the heads up on the leaky connections.
This torch arrived approximately two days after I place the order. The only problem I encountered (and was prepared for after reading other reviews) was that the hose connection leaked from the torch handle end and from the fitting to the propane tank. Does the torch work. Next alteration is to attach a longer (10') hose (still won't have spent as much on this one as others sell for). Shipping was very quick.
The product seems to be well built. For me, $20.00 and a trip to the hardware store for two clamps beats the heck out of spending two or three times what I paid for this product.
Caveat Emptor The metal clamps that hold the hose to the torch and the tank adapter are completely useless, I removed them and replaced them with hose clamps. I really didn't expect too much for 20 bucks, and that's about what I got. The torch works fine except that the hose leaked at BOTH ends right out of the package. More disturbing is the lack of a "barb" at the end of the torch connection, I stopped and filed one but now after all this alteration I'm sure the "warranty" is void:)The leaks were something I could laugh off, but in the wrong hands, possibly disastrous.
Great for burning small, confined areas or whole driveways, using the different tips included.I tried to find something comparable locally and quickly learned that was not possible. very durable and cools quickly, it's a plus for the landowner or homeowner. An excellent deal without question. I ordered this product and have used it many times - try it for lighting a bonfire or a BBQ and you'll see it cannot be beat.
Despite all the safety issues I more than got my $20 worth. Hey, I like living on the edge. I feel much safer now and it does work OK when the lighter is handy.(Update)After owning this item for several months the hose has begun to disintegrate. I noticed this problem on mine before bursting into flames, and promptly replaced the crimp clamp with a real hose clamp. I would have rated it a 4, but it LEAKS Propane when used on a full bottle. Propane Torch with 2 Extra NozzlesGreat buy for the price if not for the crimped clamp that holds the hose on the handle, and the annoying need to keep relighting. Someone is going to get hurt. Leveraging my previous modification, a quick trip to the auto parts store should took care of that.
